Alberta Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Economic Development officially announced their “Wild Boar Control program to eliminate” wild boar at large.
Included in the announcement is a bounty of $75/pair of ears for the government approved trapper and landowner who is collaborating with the trapper. Hunters can also turn in ears to collect the $75/pair of ears bounty.
In addition to the bounty program, wild boar damage is now covered under AFSC’s Wildlife Damage Compensation Program. Accurately assessing the damage to crops will help to target control efforts, and provide data to monitor the effect of the Wild Boar Control Program.
