Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada uses a number of tools to monitor dry conditions (drought status) across Canada. The information gathered from these tools impacts when programs like the Livestock Tax Deferral program become available to producers.
Currently AAFC does not have any reporters signed up for the agroclimate survey through a large portion of the east-central region and would like to fill in that gap with a few reports if possible. The gap includes the Special Areas as well as regions west to Drumheller, and north to Lloydminster.
The Agroclimate survey takes only a few minutes to fill out, is mostly multiple choice and can be done from a mobile device. The surveys are linked below:
